Educational Animated Series and Audiograms For Blood Donation
Each video in the series focuses on a direct connection to blood donation. Debunking myths, providing instruction and encouragement to a much needed health service across the country. The art style is composed of collage and type, made to create an asset library that can be used universally through each episode, maintaining uniformity and efficiency. Using direct images and metaphorical imagery, the series promotes blood donation in a positive and soft light, keeping the focus on introducing benefits and facts.

Look Development: Illustrative & Collage
I developed two concepts for the client with the main focus to break away from a stiff or plain look. The series is meant for educating every day people and encouraging participation, so it was important to have a brighter more welcoming approach. To avoid showing needles or anything bloody and scary, I decided to use a visual metaphor of a butterfly drawing nectar to imply the same physical motion, but in a light or beautiful way. That pollinators are a necessary part of nature, going from flower to flower in a display of giving and taking, parallel to donation.
Ultimately, the collage series was chosen for maximum efficiency. The design assets could be traded easily among designers animators and built up so that the project could work with 1 video, or a whole extended series. Due to the quick turn around for production, animation took place at the same time as design and required very streamline pipeline and communication between all members of the team.
Audiograms
Audiograms are designed for social, meant to showcase additional facts and related vaccine information from interviews. The graphics used subtle looping animation to engage viewer while primarily focusing on audio. 6 total animations were created, 2 of the 6 done animated by me, working alongside designer Linn Ruiz-Goubert to create another 4.
